Open TryStack Account using Facebook ID
You have to open an account in TryStack using Facebook ID for learning OpenStack free. So go to the url http://trystack.org and click on the login button.
Click on the Login with a Facebook button to access OpenStack environment free for a short time.
After login, you can test all OpenStack features or cloud-based projects for a fixed period of time. All settings will be removed from your account when the time period will expire. So TryStack free account does not keep any setting permanently and you can use it for testing purpose only. When you login first, the page will show all configuration options and information about OpenStack. You have to configure different options of this page to create your first instance. All necessary Network configurations are described in this article for creating a new instance.
OpenStack Network Configuration
Click on the Networks Link under Network group and press Create Network Button to open Network setting dialogue box.
In the Network tab, set your Network Name and click the Next button. private-net is set as network name here.
In the Subnet tab, Set the value for Subnet Name and Network Address and click the Next button.
Fill up Subnet Details tab with the following DNS name servers, check Enable DHCP option and click Create button.
The following page will be shown after setting above network configuration. You can edit or delete your setting by clicking the corresponding button.
Click on Routers link under Network group and press Create Router button to open router configuration dialogue box.
Set your router name and choose public from dropdown list as External Network. Click Create router button.
After creating the router click on the router link to set configuration for the interface.
Click on the Interface tab and press the Add Interface button to create a new interface.
Select previously created Subnet from Subnet dropdown list and press Add Interface button.
The following information will be shown after creating the interface. You can delete any existing interface by pressing Delete Interface button
To show the current network configuration click on Network Topology link under Network group.
To show the Network Topology with labels click on Toggle Labels lab.
