One of the popular open source media software is Kodi media center. It is developed by XBMC Foundation. It supports multiple operating systems, such as windows, Linux, Android etc. It has more functionalities than other media software. It is used not only to play audio and video but also to play podcasts and other media files from local or online storage. Many peoples are now using this free software for their entertainment. This software has added many free add-ons to improve the functionality of it. Exodus is one of them and it is the most popular add-on of Kodi. This add-on is mainly used to play streaming videos, movies, and TV shows. Any pirated movie or TV show can be easily accessed by using this add-on.

You can start the installation of exodus in Kodi 17.3 after completing the steps mentioned in the above article. This tutorial will help you to install exodus in Kodi 17.3 on the Ubuntu operating system.

Open Kodi

Click on home button and type “Kodi” to search the software. If the software is installed properly then the following Kodi icon will be shown. Click on the icon to open it.

Set Source to install Exodus

Click on the setting icon to open setting window of the Kodi player.

Click on the file manager to add source URL from where you will install exodus add-on.

Click on Add source link from the left side of File manager to open “Add file source” window.

There will no media location for the new installation of Kodi. Click on <None> to add URL for the exodus installation source. This will open a new window.

There are many media locations available to install exodus. One of them is used here. Add the following URL in the text box and click OK.

Next, click OK button to add the source.

If your Internet connection is not enabled for Kodi software then the following notification message will appear. How the Internet connection can be enabled is shown later in this tutorial. Now click on Yes button.

Set Permission to install add-on from Unknown Sources

Click on setting icon and click System setting option.

Click on Add-ons option and set Unknown sources option to on which is off by default.

The following warning message will appear for security. Click on Yes button.

Enable Internet connection on Kodi

Click on Internet access option from system setting window. Enable “Use proxy server” option to on. There is another option to set Internet connection bandwidth limitation. Keep it unchanged now.

Install Exodus Add-on from Source

Click on Add-ons option.

Click on the Add-on icon and click “Enter add-on browser” button to start the exodus installation process.

Click on Install from zip file option.

Click on the previously added source name (kodistuff) to open the zip file.

Click on Smash Repo 1.0.1.zip to open the download folder.


This will open the following list. Click on smash repository.

Next click on Video Add-ons.


Find the Exodus from the list. Click on Exodus link.

Click on the Install button to download and install Exodus in Kodi.

If the Internet connection is working properly for Kodi software then the download will start and the following screen will appear.

The following screen will appear after completing the exodus installation.

Now if you click on the Add-ons link then the Exodus add-on will be shown. It is now ready to use.
